Butterfly Valves

Asahi - America

Butterfly valves are named for the wing-like action of the flow-controlling disc, which operates at right angles to the flow. The disc has about the same diameter as the connecting pipe, and the flow is straight through, with a low pressure drop. Maintenance is easy due to the small number of moving parts. The butterfly valve can be used either as an on/off or modulating type of valve.

Asahi butterfly valves are currently installed in leading aquariums, swimming pools, mines, chemical processing plants, landfills and water and wastewater treatment plants in the United States and Central and South America.

Asahi/America has recently developed the advanced Type 57 valve, which has no metal to media or environment contact whatsoever. These valves may be operated manually, electrically, or pneumatically.

Asahi offers numerous options for our butterfly valves including stem extensions, gear operators and limit switches.

Hayward

Industrial Series Butterfly Valves from Hayward are specially designed to take into account application parameters encountered in larger size piping systems. The rugged, one piece body stands up to high flow rates and elevated stress conditions. The valve features a full face liner that eliminates the need for expensive flange gaskets. The valve’s molded design makes for exceptional application flexibility. Because both the body and the disc can be molded in a variety of materials, it is easy and cost effective to assemble a valve that conforms to the requirements of special, demanding applications.
